Like exercise, unless you have been advised by your doctor or midwife, you should be able to carry on working during your pregnancy. Lots of women like to carry on working as long as they can so that they can get a longer maternity leave afterwards. It is really nice to have some time to yourself before the baby comes, 2 or 3 weeks can be really enjoyable and psychologically important. But this completely depends on the kind of job you have and your personality too! Plenty of women find the thought of sitting around at home pretty boring. Whilst others are excited to have this unique opportunity to catch up with friends and take some time out to rest and catch up on some box sets!
Some women find that because of the strains of their pregnancy, physical or mental, they have to finish work a lot earlier. There is no shame in this and it is often a very personal decision. You should discuss this with your midwife or doctor. For example if you have really bad pelvic girdle pain you might be struggling to get into work and if you need to use public transport this could become a real issue. Its completely up to you and how your body feels and its likely you will want to wait and make the decision as to what to do until much nearer your due date.
